Global technology and services supplier Metso has announced that the complete cartonboard production line, PM 26 supplied by the company for Shandong IP & Sun Food Packaging came on stream in Yanzhou City, Shandong Province in China.

During the start-up, the grade produced was base paper for 300g/m2 folding boxboard.

The new 6.85m wide PM 26 has a design speed of 950m/min, and annually produces about 550,000t of folding boxboard and art board grades in the basis weight range of 170 to 350g/m2.

Metso's supply comprised a coated board making line from three headboxes to reel with stock preparation and approach flow systems, air systems, a coating color preparation system and two winders.

Shandong IP & Sun Food Packaging is part of a joint venture set up by International Paper and Sun Paper Group in 2006.
