Piping and drainage systems have become a commonplace around domestic, industrial as well as commercial places. These systems are mandatorily involved in every place for variegated uses. Pipes serve the basic purpose of supplying water or sewage from one place to another. Nevertheless, if pipes are perpetually used everywhere, there will need an occasional repair time and again. In such situations, repair couplings make your job easier.

There are a number of couplings available on the market that use rubber seal to compress around the pipe, or has the capacity to expand lengthwise. These devices are durable and quite thicker as compared to any other quality. They are often found in tight seals that secure the pipes from slipping. A user can customize the couplings as per client instructions.

How to Install Repair Couplings?

When the PVC or sewer pipe gets damaged all you can do is replace the broken section of the pipe or use brand new repair couplings to fix the break. There are many types of couplings that you can choose from; however, there is one type that is carried out with an instant set up. There is a snap-in-place type of coupling that is used over the broken section of the pipe eliminating the need to repair the broken part or replace it entirely with a new one. Given below are some simple pipe repair solutions and instructions that will solve all your leakage problems.

Instructions

Step 1: If you are working on a water supply line, the first thing to perform is to turn off the water running to the broken pipe.

Step 2: Now, place one side of the coupling under the broken pipe with the break in the center of the pipe. Use a permanent marker to draw a line stretching along each end of the coupling.

Step 3: Rotate the coupling to the top side of the broken pipe and repeat the entire process.

Step 4: Sand the broken area of the pipe and clean the whole section with a brush attached to the lid of the primer. Ensure that the pipe does not contain any type of contaminant.

Step 5: Apply glue to the damaged area of the coupling with a brush and immediately place one side of the coupling on the broken section leaving the other coupling to simply snap to the first side.

Step 6: Lastly, wrap a masking tape around the whole section so that it holds its place till the glue dries. You can peel out the tape after the glue dries.

So, whenever you face any disaster in the plumbing system, you can follow these easy to repair solutions as discussed above. It is advisable to use code approved repair couplings to gain better quality and smooth functioning in drainage and sewer systems.
